From Maths Practice Maths Homework Module Shape Measurements

Smaller size rectangular prisms

Instructions: For each question, work out a) the longest side, b) the total surface area, c) the volume and d) the combined length of all edges. (Don't forget to include the hidden sides) of the rectangular prism.

Hint:

To work out the longest side, just find the largest number.

To work out the surface area you need to multiply the length by the width of each surface and add all 6 surfaces together.

To work out the volume you need to multiply the length by the height, and then multiply this number by the width.

To work out the length of all the edges combined, you can add up all 12 edges or as a shortcut just add one length to one width to one height and multiply the result by 4.

There are 6 surfaces and 12 edges.
