Educational software theory used:

Describe Shapes

Definitions

·   All solid objects will have at least one face or surface area.

·   Where two surface areas join, we create an edge.

·   The ends of each edge form a corner or apex.

Remember that:

When you measure a shape, you can talk about 3 types of dimensions.

·   Lengths are single dimensions eg the length of a string is 5m

·   Area has two dimensions, eg the size of the paper is 20cm wide by 30cm high. The total area is 600cm2  (600 square centimetres)

·   Volume has three dimensions, eg your bedroom is 2m high by 3m wide by 4m long. The volume is 24m3  (24 cubic metres)
