· Area has two dimensions, eg the size of the paper is 20cm wide by 30cm high. The total area is 600cm2 (600 square centimetres)
· Volume has three dimensions, eg your bedroom is 2m high by 3m wide by 4m long. The volume is 24m3 (24 cubic metres)
