Educational software theory used:

Small Groups With Remainders

Division is sharing a number into equal groups. However, sometimes you will not end up with even groups and there will be a remainder.

The symbol for division is  ÷

Let’s look at an example:  13 ÷ 3

The diagram illustrates 13 stars grouped into colours.

The problem is asking you to work out, how many groups of 3 can be made from 13.

In the illustration above you can see that there are 4 columns or groups, each with 3 stars. So 13 is made up of 4 groups of 3 and 1 left over.

Educational software Instruction :

2.  Place you answer in the ‘Answer Box’ provided.
