Heading : Pencil Lengths

Description : Use a ruler graduated in mm to measure the length of a pencil.

Aim/Questions : Measure the length of the pencil. Click on the ruler to drag it over the screen.

Pencil Lengths

 

We use rulers to measure the length of objects.

 

Rulers have lines or marks on them at evenly spaced intervals.

 

Rulers can have different types of graduations.

 

For example we can measure millimetres and centimetres. Some other countries measure in units called inches.

 

 

 

Educational software Instruction :

1.  Click on the ruler.

 

2.  While your mouse button is still down, drag the ruler over the pencil.

 

3.  Measure the pencil from the very end to the tip of the lead.

 

4.  Release the mouse button to drop the ruler.

 

5.  From the question work out the answer then type your answer into the ‘Answer Box’ provided.

 

6.  Press ‘Enter’ when you have finished.
