Activity Number 9

Heading : Adding To 20

Description : Adding 2 numbers, totalling a maximum of 20

Aim/Questions : Add the numbers together.

Educational software theory used:

Adding to 20

Adding is simply putting two lots of items together to create one larger group.

When you add two numbers you combine the amounts together.

If you get stuck, look at the picture and count the number of squares.

Remember that bigger numbers are shown in columns or units of tens and ones.

For example the number 15 is made up of 1 lot of tens and 5 lots of one.

Educational software Instruction :

1.  Add the two numbers together then type the number into the ‘Answer Box’ provided.

2.  Press ‘Enter’ when you have finished.

Click on the ‘Wording’ check box if you want the sum written in a sentence.
